Grace Elene Taylor Etcheto, December 5, 1921 to July 17, 1994
ELKO – Grace Elene Taylor Etcheto, 72, died July 17, 1994, at her residence.
A native of Pratt, Kan., she was born Dec. 5, 1921, to Earl Vern and Nina Mae Pohlman Taylor, and had lived in Elko since 1977, coming from Reno, where she lived since 1966.
Mrs. Etcheto was a music director and soloist in Iuka, Calif., (should have been “Kansas”) for 30 years. She was a member of the Pratt Community Concerts Association and Reno First United Methodist Church, where she was active in the church music and church committees for 11 years. She was active in community concerts.
She was president of the Elko Hospital Auxiliary, state president of the Nevada Association of Hospital Auxiliaries, president of Elko Community Concerts Association and an elder and music co-ordinator for the Elko First Presbyterian Church.
She was a moderator of the Presbytery of Nevada and for 10 years was on the National Council of the Fellowship of Methodist musicians and served on the Methodist General Board of Discipleship in the area of worship and music. She attended Iuka grade school, Pratt High School and the College of Emporia.
Brothers, Robert and Warren Taylor, preceded her in death.
Surviving are husband, Peter Joseph of Elko; daughters, Sally Etcheto Porton of WestHollywood, Calif., and Mary Etcheto Jolly of Carson City; sons, John Raymond of Reno and Peter Martin of Southbury, Conn.; sister, Anna Marie McNickle of Ashland, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home.
